peptides

What are peptides?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids—the same building blocks that make up proteins. Think of them as small, targeted messengers in the body that tell cells what to do.

In simple terms:

  • Proteins = long amino acid chains
  • Peptides = shorter, more specific chains

Because they’re smaller, peptides can be highly specific in their function, which is why they’re popular in fitness, recovery, and wellness spaces.

What peptides do in the body

Peptides can help regulate or support things like:

💪 Muscle growth & recovery

🔥 Fat loss & metabolism

🧠 Hormone signaling

😴 Sleep quality

🦴 Joint, tendon & ligament repair

🛡️ Immune function

⚡ Energy & performance

Your body naturally produces peptides, but levels can decline with age, stress, or heavy training, which is why some people supplement them.

Common peptide categories

  • Growth hormone–related peptides (support recovery, lean muscle, fat loss)
  • Healing peptides (used for injury recovery and tissue repair)
  • Cognitive & sleep peptides
  • Metabolic peptides (appetite control, insulin sensitivity)

How peptides are used

  • Injectable (most precise & effective)
  • Oral capsules (limited absorption for many types)
  • Nasal sprays or topical creams (specific use cases)

Why athletes & active people use them

For people training hard—like Jiujitsu, strength training, HYROX, HIT or Functional Fitness—peptides are often used to:

  • Recover faster between sessions
  • Protect joints and connective tissue
  • Improve sleep and overall performance

Important note

Peptides are not steroids. Many simply signal your body to produce or regulate what it already makes. However:

  • Quality and sourcing matter
  • Dosing matters
  • Medical guidance is strongly recommended
